The Camellia City Association of Natural Health
People who are interested in the many facets of natural health are welcome to
attend monthly meetings of the Camellia City Association of Natural Health. These
meetings are free and open to everyone. The association announces it’s monthly
presentation on Facebook, usually a week or two in advance. Some speakers of the
past have discussed sustainable farming, essential oils, natural personal products,
yoga and more. These meetings are designed as open forums for new ideas and
ways to live a healthier life here in the beautiful Camellia City.
This group was the brainchild of Joy Rogers, who has done extensive
personal research on healthier alternatives in food and household products for her
family. As Rogers explains on the group’s Facebook page, “Our goal is to form a
network of like minded people who can educate each other and share what we have
each learned about natural healing.” The meetings are a great way for people to
learn and to network their natural healing services or products to others in the area.
At our last meeting, Yoga instructor and energy healer, Jen Coghlin, explained
the health benefits of Yoga and then did a guided meditation for those attending.
This was definitely one of my favorite meetings. I’ve attended group meditation
sessions given by monks and famous Yogis, and this was even better than those. I
learned at the meeting that Coghlin (along with several other instructors) will be
teaching Yoga at the new studio called Elements opening downtown within a month.
If you are interested in knowing more about the studio, or upcoming meetings,
please like the group’s Facebook page or contact Joy Rogers. The Camellia City
Association of Natural Health meets on the third Saturday of each month at Sweet
Heart Alabama located at 100 E. Commerce St.
